Part-Time Web/Print Developer (Designer) – CalgaryFebruary 2010
Cybera (www.cybera.ca) is seeking a part-time Web/Print Developer (Designer) based at the University of Calgary, to fill an initial part-time contract with flexible hours. This position will start immediately and has the possibility of extending to full-time in the summer. The Web/Print Developer will work with the Project and Communication teams to initially develop a web template in html and css. The ideal candidate will be able to develop/design websites as well as design outreach and communications material.
• Initially develop a web template in html and css for a web redesign of the CSSDP Portal (www.cssdp.ca) • Design various communication mediums including print (brochures, posters, etc), and web (html newsletter, etc) • Provide some administrative support for the general operation of the Calgary Cybera office
• Graphic design in a Mac environment using InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat • Web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) • Experience with CMS systems would be an asset (ie. Drupal) • Familiar with video compression techniques and proficient in optimizing rich media for the Web • Ability to work individually and in a virtual team environment • Open to receiving and incorporating input and comments from various parties • Ability to balance creative requirements with business and technical requirements • Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with initiative and good judgment • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully interact with a variety of personalities • A general interest in technology and research
