Project Coordinator - Calgary

Cybera  is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator for a 1-year maternity leave position.

Cybera works to spur and support innovation as an economic driver to advance the well being of all Albertans. Cybera collaborates with public and private partners to accelerate research and product development in priority areas such as health, energy, environment, and emerging technologies. Cybera acts as the prime contractor for the management of WestGrid, a consortium that provides advanced computing resources in support of research across Canada.

The Project Coordinator will work closely with Cybera’s Vice-President, Projects & Partnerships and project staff to support and coordinate various cyberinfrastructure activities.

In particular the Project Coordinator has the following responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative and project management support to various Cybera projects
  •  Support Cybera’s partner organizations (eg: Grid Research Centre, WestGrid, etc)
  • Schedule meetings, prepare documents and agendas, and take meeting minutes as needed
  • Produce and distribute project documents, including reports and summaries
  • Work with Cybera’s team to collect and write texts, prepare layout of documents, including reports, newsletters, websites, blogs, one-sheets, manuals
  • Coordinate outreach sessions, including special events, orientations, launches and training seminars
  • Occasionally provide administrative support to the Cybera office

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and should possess the following skills and experience:  

  •  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully with a variety of personalities
  • Coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong writing skills in technical report writing
  • Interested in advanced computing technology and research
  • Competent with computer applications required for administration, databases, basic layout; design and website maintenance skills would be an asset
Compensation: 

Full-time salary will commensurate with experience
