Cybera Networks

Cybera is the publicly funded agency in Alberta responsible for ensuring advanced and efficient cyberinfrastructure, or e-infrastructure, in the province. Think of it as the Internet frontier, in service of a thriving high-tech economy.

Cybera is also part of a national Research and Education Network system operated by CANARIE

All of Alberta’s major universities are connected via Cybera’s very high-speed network to an international system of research networks. Find out more about CyberaNet.

Alberta public school districts and other educational organizations are connected to be more efficient with the Internet. Find out more about the public education sector network services: Peering and the Internet Buying Group.

Alberta’s innovation community – whether it is making discoveries in labs, classrooms or companies – this is the primary focus of Cybera. With high-speed networks, pilot projects and training, and outreach to innovators, Cybera stimulates Alberta’s creative technology economy.
