Staff from Alberta's not-for-profit technology accelerator have begun a coworking experiment with business incubator AcceleratorYYC. They will be sharing their cloud computing and networking experience with startup hackers, hustlers and hipsters at the community hub in Inglewood.
Cybera is funded by the province to manage the super high-speed research and education network, CyberaNet, which connects all research institutions. Cybera also pilots emerging IT technologies for entrepreneurs, researchers, and educators, including cloud computing services, data portals, and internet buying collectives.
"Cybera is working to accelerate technology adoption in Alberta, to keep the province competitive. Our staff are internationally recognized for their cloud computing and networking expertise, and we are excited to have this opportunity to share these insights with local innovators and entrepreneurs," says Robin Winsor, President and CEO of Cybera.
In an effort to connect with the startup community, a Cybera employee will be working out of AcceleratorYYC at least once a week and will be easily accessible to discuss CyberaNet, cloud computing services, or the innovation landscape in Alberta.
