resizedimage342298-robin1Cybera is pleased to announce that its popular free cloud computing service has been publicly recognized as a vital tool for Canadian innovation, taking home two separate technology awards yesterday.

Cybera received the Ingenious Award for digital innovation in the not-for-profit category at a gala event held in Toronto last night. The company’s Rapid Access Cloud was hailed by the awarding committee for the public good it provides to innovators and researchers across the country.

The same evening, the Rapid Access Cloud was also named the winner runner-up for the Community i-Performance Awards in the innovation solutions category.

The Rapid Access Cloud, developed by Cybera in 2013, provides innovators with instant access to free cloud resources to build their own applications. Over the past two years, the Rapid Access Cloud has helped over 400 people develop their ideas into products and services. The cloud has also been utilized for open datathons and hackathons, as well as by innovators simply looking to learn more about what cloud computing can offer them.

“Publicity from these awards really supports our mission to provide Canadians with resources for innovation,” says Robin Winsor, president and CEO of Cybera. “We are grateful to the awards committees at the Information Technology Association of Canada and i-CANADA for raising awareness of the amazing digital technologies being developed in our country.”
