Advocating for a brighter tech future

There is currently a lack of high-quality, high-speed and affordable digital services across Canada. We are working to change this. Update – Broadband Connectivity in Rural Canada

Over the summer, the House of Commons Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology announced they were undertaking a study on Broadband Connectivity in Rural Canada. Cybera, in consultation with its community, wrote and submitted a brief to the committee.

In the brief, Cybera outlines the barriers faced by rural internet users and network operators, and submits that as the Government of Canada invests in broadband access infrastructure, it should pursue a “fibre-first” rural broadband strategy in order to future-proof its investment.

You can read the full brief [here].
