Mark Stevenson is an entrepreneur and author of the critically acclaimed book An Optimist’s Tour of the Future.
Mark has written for The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, The Economist, The Daily Telegraph, and The New Statesman. Earlier in his career, he spent a year as a stand-up comedian.
Today, his future-themed talks have earned him standing ovations. He has been described as “one of those rare visionaries who fascinates an audience and makes them laugh in equal measure.”
Mark is co-founder of Flow Associates, an agency that develops environments for creative innovation tied to critical thinking, with clients such as The Smithsonian Institute, British Library and The Wellcome Trust. He also sits on the advisory boards of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Earth Challenge, the crowd-investing company Trillion Fund, and others.
He is a fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, and he is the founder of The League of Pragmatic Optimists.
Mark has a degree in information technology, with a specialization in cryptography, and is also a comedy writer.
