On May 4 and 5, Cybera President and CEO Robin Winsor and Chief Technology Officer Patrick Mann will attend the BCNET/CANARIE Conference 2010 to present on Cybera pilot projects for an audience of researchers, academics, and industry leaders. The presentation, Cybera Pilot Projects – Virtualization, Clouds and Middleware, will reflect on lessons learned through Cybera's pilot project initiatives and the future direction of these projects. The talk will highlight Cybera's four CANARIE-funded Network-Enabled Platforms (NEP) projects: Cloud Enabled Space Weather Platform; Canadian Space Science Data Portal; GeoChronos; and Geospacial Cyberinfrastructure for Environmental Sensing.
The 2010 Conference's theme, New Ideas for Shared Solutions, will explore innovative ideas for sharing technology services to solve common problems. Over 400 academic and industry technology experts are expected to attend. The conference features over 40 sessions in six tracks that include Collaborations and Learning Technologies, Infrastructure and Services, and Network Planning and Strategies.
On May 4 Winsor will also be a panelist for the session Regional Developments in Advanced Networks – What's happening in Your Region. Cybera will also have a presence at the WestGrid exhibitor booth, as well as broadcast video podcasts and update the Cybera blog throughout the two days.
