Neutron Cohort

The Neutron cohort of Cybera’s Applied Data Science Lab for Economic Development launched in May 2023. In this cohort 16 budding data scientists have been paired with Alberta-based organizations to begin their real-world data science journey. Over the course of the summer months, the data science interns will develop and iterate on proof-of-concept data science products and support infrastructure that can be used by their industry partners to improve operations or develop a new product.

The Applied Data Science Lab is designed to help emerging data scientists find employment opportunities by giving them real-world data science experience. In parallel, the program supports Alberta-based organizations to adopt data science practices that will help them de-risk data-related opportunities, improve business productivity, create jobs, secure investment, and improve efficiencies.

Vertical City

Vertical City has built Canada’s largest network of residential elevator screens, which uses our custom content management software platform, Elev8 to enable property managers to communicate with their residents and serves ads that are powered by machine learning-based audience analytics platform.

With their recent development of a hardware agnostic platform, Elev8 Anywhere, they can now service hardware owned by 3rd parties, which enables us to scale at a much more rapid pace. The Vision analytics that this cohort will be working on is at the heart of their customer's insight reporting.

Matris™ by Synergyne ART Analytics Inc.

Matris™ is an innovative test (owned by Synergyne) that evaluates endometrial receptivity in patients undergoing assisted reproductive technology treatment (most often invitro fertilization procedures). Matris™ uses proprietary algorithms and specialized technologies to assess and interpret ultrasonographic images taken by the clinic generating a numeric score which clinicians use to assess the likelihood of a successful transfer.

Using 2- and 3-dimensional techniques, Matris™ and their team generate insights into endometrial receptivity that cannot be detected in routine clinical practice. Synergyne is looking to automate several critical steps so that an accurate, scalable test can be brought to the global market with minimal human intervention in the development of the Matris™ score.
