Cybera 2026 Board of Directors

Cybera is pleased to welcome three new members to its Board of Directors: Sally Banek, Associate Vice-President of Financial Services at MacEwan University; Darcy Bromling, IT Coordinator at Peace Wapiti Public School Division; and Alex Mottus, Director of IT at Pembina Hills School Division.

Together, they bring deep experience in IT and financial management across the education sector — expertise that will be invaluable as Cybera continues to drive innovation for our broader community.

Additionally, we are pleased to announce that Darren Schell, Associate Vice President, IT, at the University of Lethbridge, will assume the role of Board Chair.

Cybera’s board guides our mission to connect Albertans to the world, and to expand our infrastructure, programs, and services to best meet the digital needs of Alberta’s research, education, and public sector organizations.

We extend our sincere thanks to our departing board members: Roy Daykin (outgoing Chair), John Schutte (outgoing Vice Chair), and Heather McRae. Our team has deeply appreciated their wisdom and leadership in helping us strengthen Alberta’s research and education community, and we wish them continued success in their future endeavours.

We look forward to collaborating with our new and returning board members to champion Alberta’s digital ecosystem and support a more equitable place to work, learn, and innovate.
