The emergence of the web three decades ago led to the growth of a new cyber (internet) culture. With Cybera, SRNET and MRNet’s beginnings paralleling the rise of cyber culture in the early to mid-90s, the 2024 Cyber Summit will look back at how this cyber culture has influenced Western Canada’s network. We will explore the evolution of people sharing and interacting online, and how that has impacted research, cybersecurity, education, and the workforce.

This event will also look to the next 30 years of internet interactions, with thought provoking predictions, practical suggestions for IT leaders to consider, and of course, lots of memes.

Cyber Summit 2024 will take place November 13-14 (with workshops on November 12), once again at the Banff Park Lodge in Banff, Alberta.
