Call for Submissions

The organizers of the annual Cyber Summit are seeking dynamic and innovative speakers from the education, government, startup, and community leadership space to submit proposals for presentation and/or workshop topics.​

The Cyber Summit provides a unique opportunity to engage with like-minded technology leaders in Western Canada’s public and education spaces.

This year’s Summit theme is: Mission: Accessible

We welcome submissions that cover the following subject areas and topics, as well as other suggestions you may have:

Location Challenges

  • Connectivity gaps and solutions
  • Filling the technology skills pool /matching the supply and demand of skills
  • Driving innovation in traditionally non-technical sectors

Breaking Down Barriers

  • Technological solutions for visual, hearing, motor, or cognitive challenges
  • Overcoming bias in tech hiring / schooling
  • Organizational / community solutions for socio-economic difficulties

Building Computational Literacy / Digital Citizenship

  • How organizations can prepare staff / consumers for coming tech disruptions
  • Teaching computational thinking
  • Building ethics and privacy policies into organizations’ foundations
  • Cultural consequences / opportunities of connectivity
  • The role of government in digital literacy
