Cybera moving to four-day work week over the summer

This summer, in an effort to promote our staff’s wellbeing and create a better work-life balance, Cybera will be piloting a four-day workweek. This means we will shift our working hours to Monday-Thursday, and close the office every Friday from July 8 to August 26.

Cybera’s mission is to connect Alberta to the world, enabling and advocating for better services, collaborations and skills growth through the use of digital technology. To accomplish this, we rely on a team of dedicated, smart, and endlessly creative people. Recognizing that we need to protect this “people” resource, Cybera is shifting our hours over the summer, to give staff an extra day in the week to reboot.

We do not expect a drop-off in productivity with this pilot program, and our priority will continue to be to serve Alberta’s public, research and education sectors to the best of our abilities. We do ask for your patience as we work through our revised schedules.

Our network on-call team will still be available for any urgent issues.

Over the summer, we will consistently track how well we are performing, as well as how productive employees are feeling, to determine if the pilot is successful.

We look forward to sharing our learnings on this reduced work week pilot with you, and continuing our vision to ensure a connected, secure and equitable digital future for every Albertan!
