Cyber Summit breaks records
Despite the cold and snow, over 250 people made it out to our November conference (an in-person record for the Cyber Summit!). We have made 15 of the session slide decks available for attendees to view. Have an idea for how we could improve the Summit for next year, or what topics we should focus on? New cybersecurity group for education sector
To increase shared cybersecurity learning and discussion opportunities within Alberta’s education sector, Cybera will begin hosting a series of quarterly online webinars and conversations for IT leaders in the K-12 and post-secondary sectors. The first online session, “A day in the life of a CISO,” will run on December 8 at 1:30 pm MT.
New group of industry data science projects underway
Cybera has launched its first cohort of the Applied Data Science Lab, which gives Alberta companies and budding data scientists the chance to trial a real-world data exploration project. This work integrated learning program has paired eight emerging data scientists with two Alberta based businesses to carry out a six-month project.
