Cybera has joined a cross-Canada coalition of organizations and businesses who are pushing for widespread internet access to be made a priority by government and telcos.
Even before the social distancing policies that have come into force to fight COVID-19, people have become increasingly reliant on the Internet to access work, education, training, government services and more. Bridging this digital divide and ensuring all communities have adequate access will be a key part of Canada’s post-pandemic economic recovery.
Our joint statement:
“Every person in Canada must have affordable high speed access to the Internet. All levels of government must immediately take steps far above and beyond their current commitments to get everyone online as soon as possible and mend Canada’s digital divide.”
