Cybera preps members for Olympic-sized traffic loads

Internet connections are expected to slow down as millions of Canadians go online between Feb 7-23. Traffic is expected to more than double or quadruple at peak times, which may create jerky images for most of us sharing bandwidth with our neighbours.

However, with the help of RackForce, Cybera has increased the bandwidth available to members of the Internet Buying Group for the month of February. Two school divisions in Peace River, along with six other school divisions across Alberta, are upping their capacity for the month of February.

CBC is live-streaming the Olympic action and expects peak traffic during the hockey games. For Albertans, the expected peaks are:
